The Countdown is on to the 250th Anniversary of the War for Independence

To commemorate the occasion the Ormond Beach Historical Society (OBHS) is excited to announce the American Revolution Experience at the Anderson-Price Memorial Building, 42 North Beach Street, Ormond Beach, from February 22 to March 3, 2025. The exhibit is FREE and open to the public daily. Free parking is adjacent to the building.

We are asking you to help us promote this unique opportunity for our local community to start celebrating America’s 250th with your organization.

The American Revolution Experience (A.R.E) consists of 12 panels and 3 interactive kiosks that tell the stories of ordinary people, who had to answer the question, “What will you do?” The A.R.E was created by the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. It will travel to scores of locations through 2025, introducing visitors to a cast of historical characters with diverse experiences throughout the conflict. Learn more about the exhibit at www.americanrevolutionexperience.battlefields.org

This will be the only opportunity to view the A.R.E. in our immediate area. To compliment the exhibit, OBHS, with assistance from Captain James Ormond Chapter DAR and Daytona-Ormond Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution, has planned a host of fun and informative events:

·       Daily viewing of the exhibit which is FREE and open to the public

·       Washington’s Birthday Party – a ticketed event

·       Not Only in Boston Tea Party – a ticketed event

·       FREE programs throughout the 10 days featuring experts on Florida’s role in the Revolution; the role of women in gaining freedom from Great Britain; stories from local descendants of Revolutionary Era Patriots; and re-enactors portraying George and Martha Washington and Alexander Hamilton.

·       The complete schedule of programs and exhibit hours can be found at www.OrmondHistory.org

Attached is suggested wording to include in your member newsletter, website, etc. Please direct any questions to Desiree Girty, Office Manager, at des@OrmondHistory.org or 386-677-7005.
